I wanted to entitle this post, “Happy Halloween”, but I know that this day is going to be very challenging for many people affected by Hurricane Sandy. Unfortunately, it may not be the happiest of holidays as over 600,000 people in our state are without power and many are dealing with property damage from wind, trees and water. Shawna and I feel very fortunate that we were not personally affected by this storm, but we know the damage in our state was significant. For those that were affected, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
As is becoming tradition here at OAAM, every Wednesday we share a post with a few pictures from our daily life. This week, I thought it might be nice to try to put a smile on your face with some cute Halloween photos.
These were taken by photographer, Kathryn Deane, at Saturday’s Halloween Stroll in West Hartford. You may remember Kathryn as the one that took all the fabulous new pictures for our site. It was so fun to have an opportunity to capture the kids in their costume cuteness.
Shawna and I tried our handiwork at putting together a few costumes this year. Shawna made a little monster costume for Boo and I attempted to put together a Wonder Woman costume for Sparkles. Bruiser’s costume was mostly from Old Navy but I also got him a cape (which both he and his sister refused to wear) from here. And baby girl’s bumblebee outfit was a score from the Cute Kids Consignment Sale.
Thank you to Moms and More for putting together such a wonderful event for the kids! We hope everyone finds something fun to do today to celebrate Halloween (hint: check out Shawna’s post for some ideas.)
And for those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, we are thinking about you.
What are you doing to celebrate Halloween?
