This past weekend was brutal. I know it doesn’t help that I am 8 months pregnant, but I think everyone was feeling the heat as the temps soared into the 90’s (but felt like they were in the 100’s!).
Most of the time, our little window air conditioning units were not cutting it. So we had to find some creative ways to cool down (and take advantage of some industrial strength central AC). So where did I get my ideas? From this blog, of course!
Saturday we spent almost two hours hanging at the McDonald’s in Glastonbury with the giant indoor play area. Boo got to climb and slide while we enjoyed cool AC, frosty beverages (milkshakes or coffee drinks), and free WiFi. (Read our full post on the Gbury McDonald’s Play Place here, or our post on the West Hartford McDonald’s Play Place here.)
Then Sunday, we chilled at the Gbury Whole Foods with its vast food court and kids’ play area, which looks like it has gotten a bit of a revamp with a new carpet and some added toys. Have some lunch or just enjoy frosty coffee beverages or even their gourmet gelato. Yummm. (Read our full post on the Gbury Whole Foods here.)
So what’s your most creative way to beat the heat?
