I signed up for the Hartford Half Marathon. I made a promise to a friend and more importantly a promise to myself and I signed up. After two pregnancies and three kids, I think it is time for a new challenge, right? Well, given that the race is 8 weeks away and I have yet to run more than 4 miles, my plan may not be the best. We’ll see.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying these views during my morning run.
The image below probably describes my running style best, but I don’t care.
I just hope I can finish the race.
Anyone else signed up for the Hartford Half?

Hmmm… I did it in 2008 – it was a lovely day and it’s a lovely course… I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Now I’m wondering if I should sign up again for this year… although totally not trained for it (working on it but… slow going!).
I didn’t start my training for the half until June ’08 and I survived, so you can do this. 🙂

Hartford was my first Half – they do a fantastic job (I can compare to 7 other Halfs and a Full). Unfortunately, battling chronic injuries currently (bursitis and a probable hip labral tear), so I will have to eventually be happy with 5K to 5milers once I heal, as it is more important to run, than to run far and fast at this point for me. Be careful that you adhere to the 10% rule and when you run these next several weeks, and run at the pace you trained – don’t let the excitement and the crowd make you go really fast at first.
