We’ve once again had a busy sponsor month here at Out and About Mom. It is thanks to these Connecticut businesses that we can continue scouting fun outings to share with our readers!
Please take a moment to learn about the businesses that support Out and About Mom.
Our sponsors are gearing up for a busy fall season. Check out all that they have going on:
- For parent’s planning for the 2014 school year, The Independent Day School in Middlefield is holding an open house in November.
- The family friendly destination of Jessica’s Garden in Marlborough is holding their Fall Fairy Festival in October.
- Our site photographer, Kathryn Deane, is busy booking family sessions for the holiday season.
- And our newest sponsor, Stella & Dot Stylist, Tisa Marshall is kicking off two beautiful boutiques in October.
This month Shawna and I were also had the opportunity to donate a sponsor listing to a non-profit based in Fairfield, Connecticut. Moms in Training is a new branch of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and they are hosting a training program just for moms. As someone who recently got back on the exercising track with the help of a local Couch to 5K program, I know how much the support of a group can mean when you want to focus on getting in shape. What a great opportunity to work out with other moms and support an important cause.

Pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin bisque will be exciting additions to the fall menu. Mums and pumpkins will be available for home decorating and the fairies in the fairy garden will be preparing for winter. Their 2013 Fall Fairy Festival will be held on October 5th & 6th and will include vendors, campfires, fritters, and fun. Moms in Training (MIT) is the newest branch of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is a Fairfield based flexible 8-week exercise program for moms who want to get fit, meet other local moms and help cure cancer! Workouts are held on Saturday mornings at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, Connecticut. Babies in strollers are welcome at the weekly trainings session and the program culminates in a 5 mile run/walk in Wallingford on November 24th. The kick-off meeting was held last Saturday, September 21st but they are still welcoming participants.
Once again, a great big “thank you” to our wonderful sponsors. They certainly help keep things going here at OAAM, and we hope that you will keep them in mind now and in the future.
