Cut to the chase. Take me to the Momsense.
Halloween is such a fun time of year for kids and I love finding every chance I can for my little ones to get dressed up in their costumes and enjoy the holiday. I usually take them to so many Halloween events that by the time Halloween night actually arrives their costumes are a bit tattered, but I certainly don’t care!
Last year, one fun event we participated in was Give-A-Treat, Get-A-Treat at the Shoppes of Farmington Valley. I’ve actually written about The Shoppes of Farmington Valley more than once as I love the small playground located there and Bruiser got his first haircut at Snip-its also located there. It is definitely a go-to shopping destination for me especially when I have a kiddo or two or three in tow and it is so wonderful that they offer this and many other family-friendly events each year.
This year the event will be held on Monday, October 26th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. It is for kids ages 10 and under and a donation of a non-perishable food item is needed to participate.
When we arrived last year, there was a table set up where we gave our food donation and received a special bag for the kids to collect their treats.
Then we made our way from store to store and the kids got candy or another treat at each stop.
It did get pretty busy at times and lines like the one below would form in front of stores. But we just passed by those locations and found plenty of other places where they kids could get a little treat to add to their bag.
Before long, my little crew of Lighting McQueen, Tinkerbell, and The Little Mermaid were pretty tired and ready to be done. Good thing too because most of the stores were out of candy by then (I definitely suggest getting there as close to 5 as possible if you go).
Before we headed home, though, we did make a quick stop at Barnes and Nobles so that everyone could warm up and check out the great kids section in the bookstore (okay, maybe I got myself a yummy hot beverage while we were there as well 🙂
So if you are looking for a chance for your little one to wear their costume and enjoy this fun holiday, be sure to check out Give-A-Treat, Get-A-Treat at the Shoppes of Farmington Valley on October 26, 2015 and then find even more Halloween activity ideas in our 2015 Halloween Happenings Guide!
