I am not much of a golfer (much to my golf-obsessed husband’s dismay), but I must say there is something about miniature golf that makes me want to pick up a putter and start literally tilting at windmills. So when I stumble upon a new (or new-to-us) miniature golf course, I just can’t help myself. I have to play it. This might be a borderline obsession.
Which brings us to our latest Out and About Mom adventure: Tee Rex Mini Golf in Thompson, CT!
So far on blog we’ve golfed our way on safari, across Switzerland, and through a lush hidden valley, but this is the first time we’ve actually gone back in time on a mini fairway! So it was certainly a historic occasion. Or rather, a prehistoric one ๐
Part of the fun on this course is discovering all the dinos and other prehistoric paraphernalia, so I won’t give everything away. But I will show you a few of our favorite holes!
And what is a round of mini golf without a round of ice cream to follow? Lucky for us, Tee Rex Mini Golf has 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream! Plus plenty of hard scoop options too. And Del’s, for all my fellow Rhode Island natives who understand the allure of this magical elixir (okay, it’s just frozen lemonade, but really good frozen lemonade).
Afterwards, we zipped over to nearby Putnam, CT for an early dinner at one of our frequent BC (before children) haunts, the always delicious 85 Main restaurant (and yes, they do have a kids’ menu) which I hadn’t been back to since this post when my firstborn was only just ONE! Felt like coming full circle to bring the whole family there ๐
Tee Rex Mini Golf was definitely a hole in one. Hope you get a chance to visit with your family!

Dinosaur mini golf is always incredible (if everyone at least sort of plays fair or has fun). Unfortunately the two dino mini golf places near me have closed down. Recently I went to Chucksterโs. It has the worldโs longest, shortest, hardest, and easiest holes! It is a bit far (and by a bit I mean a lot) from Connecticut, but it is amazing. Since it is located in Hooksett, NH it might be good for if one goes on a vacation in New Hampshire. Hopefully I can also visit Tee-Rex Mini Golf. Looks like a lot of fun!
