Hi everyone! Today we have an extra special guest poster on the blog: Mandy is here! She and the family came up from their home near Orlando, Florida for a quick visit to CT, and so of course she had to go on and Out and About Mom adventure!
For the first 5 years of blogging at Out and About Mom, Mandy and I were going on weekly adventures–sometimes separately, but often together–and documenting our outings to help other moms (and dads!) find fun things to do with their kiddos. But when her family moved to Florida about 7 years ago, it became kinda hard for her to blog about things to do in CT 🙂
Today though, she’s back in the saddle. And it’s like she never left! She and her three kiddos are sharing some pics from their recent strawberry picking outing at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT. Before you read on though, you just have to look back at this post Mandy wrote on this same activity back in 2015. Look at little “Sweetheart” in those photos 🙂 Even better, check out this other strawberry-picking post we did from 2012 when “Bruiser” and “Sparkles” were just 18 months old!
Gosh, Mandy and I had so many amazing adventures together when our kiddos were small (I mean, do you all remember when we spent that year filming segments for Better Connecticut?! Holy cow, I still can’t believe we were TV personalities for a bit there! Even more incredible is that we managed to look pretty good doing it while wrangling 5 toddlers at home! Ha!).
I sure do miss having her nearby. But fortunately my kids have recently become obsessed with all things Disney World after our trip there in January (first OAAM reunion in 7 years!), so hopefully I’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the future 😉 Maybe we’ll even have to team up for some Disney insider posts!
In the meantime, enjoy these pics of Mandy and her kiddos picking some lucious-looking strawberries out at Lyman Orchards. Then head there yourself for your own juicy haul. Just don’t wait too long because although a lot has changed in the past 7 years, strawberry season is still waaaaaay too short!

It’s been so fun having Mandy and her kiddos back on the site today. Maybe we can convince them to make this an annual visit to CT 😉
