I’ve long been a fan of the annual Scarecrow Walk in Wethersfield, but this year I’ve discovered there’s another town festooning their Main Street with dozens of creative characters!
Did you know about the Downtown Scarecrow Festival in Manchester, CT??
Now through the end of October you can stroll along Main Street in Manchester and marvel at scarecrow creations donated by local businesses and organizations–45 in all!
This charming area has several restaurants (like The Angry Egg, Mulberry Street Pizza & Silk City Coffee–hello S’mores Latte!) and shops, as well as one of our favorite DIY pottery studios, The Firestone (check out our blog post about this venue!). And this Saturday, October 21st, 2023, you can join them for Halloween Happenings, including fun kids’ activities like a magic show and trick-or-treating.
You can even extend this festive outing with a visit to one of our favorite playgrounds in Charter Oak Park, which is just a few blocks away, or stop in at the nearby Lutz Children’s Museum for some toddler/preschooler playtime!
This is a great opportunity to explore a new-to-you area this month. It’s an easy, inexpensive outing to get your whole family into the fall spirit!
