Have you heard about the NEW splash pad and pool at Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown that opened in summer 2023?
With an age gap of 7 years between my oldest and youngest, splash pads have been a staple outing for my family for years. They are great for your little non-swimmers and still fun for the older kiddos in your crew. So when you need a water activity that a whole range of ages and abilities can enjoy, a splash pad is definitely high on the list.
So of course I was really excited to hear about this new splash pad in Middletown! It’s open to all, completely FREE to visit and it has so many lovely amenities (including real restrooms and plenty of shady seating). I love it when a town creates such an amazing gathering place for the whole community ๐
The splash pad was easy to get to, but a little tricky to find from the direction we came as the road into the park passes by what looks like the remains of the old playground and it wasn’t immediately apparent that we were heading in the right direction. But we just kept driving straight and were rewarded!
There’s an impressive helicopter monument over here near the Military Museum that the little ones will probably go gaga for ๐
Onward into the park and you’ll see the new complex just ahead. There is parking on two sides of it.
We headed up the ramp.
And here it is!
Gorgeous, right?!
There is an elevated area with shady tables.
And even a *real* restroom with spacious, family-style bathrooms with baby changing stations. (No cramming into porta-potties here! Wahoo!)
Plus, for the swimmers in your crew, there’s also a beautiful and spacious pool!
It wasn’t open when we were there back in May, so I only got a quick pic through the gate.
While the splash pad is FREE to all, there is an admission fee to use the pool. (2024 pool info can be found here).
Our little miss had so much fun frolicking in the fountains. We’ll be back for sure ๐
