About a lifetime ago I took my toddler “Boo” (now 14 and definitely no longer answering to the nickname “Boo” LOL) to the Veteran’s Memorial Playground in Hebron, CT for one of the early outings on this blog. Recently, I was delighted to discover that this park has received a HUGE playscape upgrade! So I thought I’d take my 7-year-old to explore the new structures and give me her seal of approval as our resident playground aficionado. Spoiler alert: She loved it 🙂

While we are looking at the map, let me point out The Flour Girl Cafe, which is the perfect spot if you’re looking for a quick and delicious bite or cup of coffee 🙂 You can even order ahead online Monday-Friday!
Now onto the main event…

There are two separate structures. One for older children and one for toddlers and preschoolers.

The larger playscape is impressive! It has several features that we haven’t seen before at other playgrounds.

This is a really unique structure too. I love that it has so many ways to climb and kids can approach it creatively.

Veteran’s Memorial Park also has a baseball field (gotta do this research for all my fellow baseball mamas!). There is a building nearby with restrooms that were locked when we were there, but may be open during games. Looks like there may be a snack bar there during games too. (There was a porta-potty near the playground but based on it’s location I couldn’t tell if that was there just for the construction site or if it would still be there once the work was completed.)

The new playground is definitely a wonderful improvement to the park! I hope you get a chance to check it out with your kiddos soon too 🙂
