The Rotary Club of Woonsocket is excited to announce “Woonsocket Rotary Days,” a month long culmination of community oriented events, highlighting the people, groups, organizations, businesses and local, state and federal agencies that make this community special. The Woonsocket Rotary Club is going to kick off this community wide celebration with the “Woonsocket Rotary Days” Touch-A-Truck Family Festival which will be held at 200 Industrial Drive, North Smithfield, RI (formerly Homestead Gardens) on Saturday, May 2nd & Sunday, May 3rd featuring a one of a kind, Touch-A-Truck – Interactive Learning Experience from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
Food vendors will also be on hand selling family friendly foods.
The event is designed to provide an entire family with a full day’s worth of fun and excitement, to bring education and knowledge to a child’s mind, inspiration to child’s heart and a smile to a child’s face.
Children of all ages love the opportunity see, get up close to and climb aboard big and amazing machines. We are looking to feature all kinds of interesting and exciting machines that drive, roll, crawl and even fly. We are asking local businesses, corporations, local, state and federal agencies to help with their participation to make this an exciting and memorable event.
All proceeds generated from this event are returned to the community through The Rotary Club of Woonsocket and their efforts to support the community through its local charities.

Any Touch-a-Truck events near Danbury?
Marcia Berneger says
Hi,
I recently participated in a local (San Diego) Touch-A-Truck fundraiser to raise money for childhood cancer. I was invited to read my new picture book, Buster the Little Garbage Truck. The book was a big hit with the children. I spoke with the organizer about bringing copies to sell next year, and donating all the profits to the fundraiser. She agreed enthusiastically. I would like to offer other Touch-A-Truck events the same thing. It is not always possible for me to travel to read Buster, but I can put them in touch with my publisher (Sleeping Bear Press) who would provide the books at a discount—thus allowing them to sell the books for full price and keep the profits to support further programs. I would also be glad to send signed bookmarks.
Please contact me if you are interested in sharing Buster the Little Garbage Truck with the children who attend your Touch-A-Truck event.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Marcia
